'C' CATEGORY INSTRUCTOR RATING - AEROPLANE

Duration

C Cat Instructor Rating Courses are 12 weeks (minimum) full time.

Prerequisites

You need:

  • a minimum of a New Zealand PPL or NZ CAA validated equivalent licence
  • at least 150 hours logged as Pilot in Command

The eligibility requirements are set out in CAR Part 61 - please contact us for assistance in further determining your eligibility.

Assessment

Your progress towards the required standard will be monitored by a debriefing session with your instructor at the end of each flight. To obtain an Instructors Rating, you must successfully complete a flight and ground assessment with an ASL approved flight testing officer, which normally takes a full day.

Course Cost

The cost is based on 25 hours dual instruction in a Cessna 152. The cost includes all theory study material, Tuition, Flight Test fee, Licence Issue, Airways and Landing fees. Prices are subject to change please contact us for current pricing details.

Course Dates

Courses are available on demand subject to student numbers and the availability of instructors. The Instructor Rating is formally structured as the final part of all Professional Pilot courses.

Other

This course is the most common method of initial employment to enable students to consolidate their knowledge and increase their flight experience to levels required by the airline industry. The Instructor rating also provides the facility to apply for Check and Training / Instructor positions once employed in an airline.
