Mainland Aviation College offers International Students a full range of courses and is registered as a Private Training Establishment by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and is also registered for The Code of Practise for the Pastoral Care of International Students by the New Zealand Ministry of Education.

To become a qualified pilot, you must obtain a Private Pilots Licence (PPL). After gaining this, you then require a Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL). Once achieved, to increase your chance of employment on your return to your homeland, it is advisable to then obtain your Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR) which allows you to fly on poor weather days in cloud and is an essential step in pursuing a career in the airline industry world wide.
Mainland Aviation has 18 years of flight training experience and is well versed in the requirements for International students. Once committed to flight training with Mainland Aviation College, we are able to provide all the necessary immigration documents students will require to gain entry into New Zealand for their study.
Mainland Aviation College have found that all their International Students are focused and most have been able to complete the licences they have chosen to sit, in the time frame of 6 – 10 months.
Mainland Aviation College provide a safe healthy learning environment for all students. International students are provided with a hostel type accommodation at a minimal cost per week. Previous and current students have been, and are, very impressed with the lovely spacious grounds which the building is set in – the perfect setting for all outdoor sports and activities.
This accommodation is situated 8 minutes from the centre of Dunedin City, which is renowned for providing activities and catering to the needs of young adults, as it is home to Otago University.
