A plane and vintage train spectacular. Departing Dunedin we fly directly over Central Otago, Nevis Valley and the Remarkable Mountains to the hamlet of Kingston situated atthe southern tip of Lake Wakatipu. A short walk later and it's "all aboard" the vintage trainKingston Flyer. This beautifully restored train is pulled by a 1920s AB-class steam loco-motive with steam-heated wooden 1898 vintage carriages. Take a short journey to a doton the map called Fairlight, high in the Mataura River Valley. Stretch your legs and inspect the running gear of the locomotive before returning to Kingston by the Flyerand your waiting plane. We will fly up pristine blue Lake Wakatipu and over the tourist centre of Queenstown. We then follow the mighty Kawarau and Clutha rivers, before crossing thetussock-covered Lammerlaw Mountains back to Dunedin.
