Tititea Mount Aspiring is one of New Zealand's most spectacular peaks with hanging glaciers and beech-covered slopes falling away to Lake Wanaka. Depart Dunedin and fly north-west over the golden plains and schist mountains of Central Otago following the Clutha River to its source, Lake Wanaka. We take a bird's eye look at Rob Roy Glacierand the beautiful Matukituki River Valley before reaching Mount Aspiring, 'Tititea - the shining peak'. We will circle the summit several times and on the way back you have theoption of stopping-off at the famous NZ Fighter Pilots Museum at Wanaka. This is amemorial to our kiwi combat fliers where you can see many restored WW1 and WW2 fighter planes and bombers. Returning to the air we return to Dunedin via the ManiototoPlain, famous for its dramatic light and cloud formations, and the wetland maze of the Upper Taieri River as it snakes wildly across the plain.
